What «organic» means for an olive oil
An organic oil comes from groves certified under European organic farming rules. No synthetic chemical pesticides or fertilisers are used, and the grove is cared for with cover crops, organic manure and natural pest control.
An inspection body checks the grove and the mill every year. That is why all our oils carry the EU organic logo, the green leaf of stars, together with the code of the body that certifies them.
The taste of olive oil as it always was
Extra virgin olive oil is olive juice obtained by mechanical means only. In the oils we select you can taste it: fresh olive fruitiness, cut grass or tomato leaf, a clean bitterness and the peppery kick in the throat that gives away a fresh oil.
How we choose our producers
We work with a short selection of Spanish organic mills and cooperatives, from Jaén and Córdoba to Sierra de Gata, Alicante and Catalonia. We taste every oil before listing it and show you its origin, variety and price per litre, so you can compare clearly.
Organic and conventional: what is the difference?
It lies in how the grove is farmed and inspected. Both are legal ways of producing extra virgin olive oil. We chose to specialise in organic because it best represents the traditional way of working the grove.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know an oil is organic?
By the EU organic logo and the inspection body code on the label. If you wish, we can send you the producer's certificate.
Does organic oil taste different?
Flavour depends mostly on the variety, the harvest time and the care taken at the mill. The oils we have selected stand out for their fruitiness and freshness.
Why don't you sell conventional oil?
Because we want to be specialists in one thing and do it well.
