Cortijo de Suerte Alta, a century at the heart of Baena

In 1924 the Marquis of Bedmar planted by hand the three-trunk olive trees that still sustain this house. Four generations later, Cortijo de Suerte Alta remains at the heart of the Baena PDO, fully organic, with its own estate and a bioclimatic mill where the oil is cold-extracted below 27 °C.

More than 250 international awards back what has always been done here: tending the olive tree and waiting for each olive to say when.

The oil

100% Picual picked at the exact moment of veraison, the barely two-week window when the olive turns from green to violet. Intense aroma of green tomato, artichoke and leaf, with a powerful peppery finish. The producer states over 1,200 mg/kg of polyphenols.
