There are olive groves where, besides olives, the birds, insects and wild flowers come back. Olivares Vivos Picual by Castillo de Canena comes from them: a biodynamic extra virgin olive oil from a Jaén family house that works every season to give life back to the countryside.
It is a Picual with a vibrant, complex flavour and intense notes of fresh grass, almond and tomato, the kind that stays in the memory.
It comes in a dark glass 500 ml bottle, on its own or in boxes of 6, 12 or 24.

Vibrant and complex
Nose
Fresh grass, almond and tomato, with an intensity that announces itself as soon as the bottle is opened.
Palate
Vibrant and complex, with the bitterness and pepperiness of Picual, in balance.
Finish
Persistent, with a green, peppery memory that takes a while to fade.
It is an oil that speaks of the land it comes from: a living grove, with ground cover, hedgerows and shelters for wildlife.
Castillo de Canena and the Olivares Vivos project
Castillo de Canena is a family company in Jaén that controls the whole process, from tree to bottle, on a historic estate beside the Renaissance castle that gives it its name. Part of its groves are farmed under the principles of biodynamic agriculture, which seeks a balance between soil, plants and animals.
Olivares Vivos is a project that promotes olive groves able to recover biodiversity, with ground cover, hedgerows and shelters for birds and insects. Castillo de Canena has brought that philosophy to this Picual.
Where Olivares Vivos Picual shines
- Toast with tomato.
- Carpaccio and tartare.
- Seasonal salads.
- Chargrilled vegetables.
- Aged cheeses.
Thanks to its complexity, it is enjoyed above all raw, with simple dishes that let the oil speak. A drizzle over a carpaccio or a seasonal tomato is enough to appreciate its intensity.
Olivares Vivos Picual in a 500 ml bottle

The dark glass bottle protects the oil from light and air. Half a litre lets you enjoy Olivares Vivos Picual at its best for several weeks.
It is sold on its own or in boxes of 6, 12 or 24 bottles, handy for gifts or for stocking up. It keeps best in a cool, dark place.
