How it shows on tasting
On the nose come freshly cut grass, tomato leaf and green olive, with a clean, very fresh perfume. On the palate the entry is smooth and silky, with a balanced profile in which no variety dominates, and an elegant peppery touch at the end.
Each variety brings its own: Arbequina, sweetness; Hojiblanca, freshness; Picual, structure. The blend unites them in a round, versatile oil.
An organic grove in the Tabernas desert
Oro del Desierto grows its olive trees in the municipality of Tabernas, one of the most arid landscapes on the continent. There the estate farms organically, caring for the soil and the grove without synthetic chemicals, so the oil honestly expresses the land it comes from.
That work has been recognised with national and international awards over the years, and the house is among Spain’s most respected mills.
How to enjoy Oro del Desierto
- Freshly toasted bread with salt.
- Tomato salads.
- Roast vegetables and pulses.
- Griddled fish.
- Gazpachos and chilled soups.
Its balance makes it the house’s all-purpose oil: it suits breakfast bread as well as a rice sofrito or a salad dressing. With a litre at hand, it is used without measuring.
In everyday cooking it also brings a gentle green note to roast potatoes, sautéed greens or a simple bowl of lentils, finishing each dish with the fresh character of the desert grove.
The 1 litre tin

The one-litre tin protects the oil from light and is the perfect measure for always having a quality organic extra virgin at hand in daily cooking, without the oil staying open too long.
It is sold on its own or in cases of 2 or 4 tins. To keep its aroma, it should be closed tightly after each use and stored away from heat sources.
