Tasting Oro del Desierto Hojiblanca
Oro del Desierto’s Hojiblanca is recognisable by its aromas of green olive, flowers and aromatic herbs. On the palate the entry is smooth and the finish lightly peppery, in a fresh, very pleasant whole.
It is a medium-intensity, versatile oil that moves easily between raw use and daily cooking.
The floral touch sets it apart from other Hojiblanca oils and gives it an elegant note, closely tied to the dry, luminous climate of Tabernas.
Hojiblanca in dry land
Hojiblanca, the typical variety of Córdoba and Málaga, finds a very different setting in Tabernas: less rain, more sun and intense light. Oro del Desierto grows it there organically, without synthetic chemicals, caring for each tree.
Made separately, this Hojiblanca shows how landscape shapes a variety’s character, giving it a personality of its own.
The Tabernas estate has received numerous awards over the years, the result of constant work in the field and at the mill.
How to enjoy Oro del Desierto Hojiblanca
- Gazpacho and salmorejo.
- Pulses.
- Griddled vegetables.
- Tomato salads.
Its freshness makes it ideal for gazpacho or salmorejo, warm lentils or griddled vegetables. With a litre at home, it also accompanies everyday hot cooking, from simple sautés to slow-cooked stews.
Patatas a lo pobre, a vegetable pisto or a soupy rice take well to its fresh profile, which holds after cooking. Raw, over a tomato, onion and oregano salad, its floral touch becomes the star of the dish, recalling the luminous landscape it comes from.
Oro del Desierto Hojiblanca: the 1 litre tin

The black tin protects the oil from light and is light and unbreakable. A litre is a comfortable measure for daily cooking.
It is sold on its own or in cases of 2 or 4 tins. For the table there is the 500 ml bottle.
