Tasting CÉNIT Picual
CÉNIT Picual combines the variety’s greenness with the roundness of an olive at veraison: medium fruitiness, notes of leaf, tomato and banana and a fresh, clean aftertaste.
It is a Picual designed for daily use, with enough presence to add flavour and the smoothness needed never to tire.
With the half-litre bottle at hand, oil becomes a natural part of every meal: breakfast, the midday salad and dinner all find in it a reliable companion.
Picual picked at veraison
For CÉNIT Picual, Oleohiguera waits for veraison: the moment the olive skin begins to take on purple tones. This gives a rounder oil than the early harvest, without losing the variety’s green notes.
It is made in Lahiguera (Jaén) from certified organic olives by cold extraction.
Choosing when to harvest is one of a mill’s most important decisions. At veraison, the olive has gained a little sweetness without losing its vegetal freshness, and the resulting oil strikes a balance that suits everyday use beautifully, raw at the table as well as in the warmth of the kitchen.
How to enjoy CÉNIT Picual
- Tomato dishes.
- Salads.
- Griddled vegetables.
- Toast.
Its tomato note makes it ideal for salmorejo, a tomato and spring onion salad or bread with tomato. It also works very well over griddled vegetables or oily fish.
In hot cooking, its stability suits sofritos and stews, where it adds a green depth that holds after cooking.
The 500 ml bottle

Dark glass protects the oil from light and half a litre is finished within a few weeks, the oil always fresh. It is the perfect size for the table cruet.
For gifts there is the same bottle with an illustrated box.
Once opened, it keeps best tightly closed, away from the hob and direct sunlight. Picual is a naturally stable variety, so the last drizzle stays almost as lively as the first.
