Vida Trashumante La Oveja is the project of the Guerrero family, who raise Segureño lambs and grow olives between the Sierra de Segura and Sierra Morena in Jaén, following the centuries-old tradition of transhumance. Their oil is an organic first-cold-pressed Picual EVOO, made in limited, artisan quantities. Each bottle travels with wool from their transhumant sheep: a link between olive grove and shepherding that gives the brand its meaning.

How Vida Trashumante oil tastes
Nose
Green Picual fruitiness, with the variety’s own character.
Palate
Bitterness and pepper present, with the structure that makes Picual a stable oil.
Finish
A frank finish, that of a cold-made artisan oil.
Between the Sierra de Segura and Sierra Morena
The Guerrero family raises Segureña lambs and grows olives between the Sierra de Segura and Sierra Morena, in Jaén, following the centuries-old tradition of transhumance, which moves flocks between summer and winter pastures.
From the grove comes an organic, cold first-pressed Picual oil made in limited quantities; from the flock, the wool that travels with each bottle as a reminder of the bond between olive tree and herding.
Format

Pack of two complete La Oveja pieces, each with its 500 ml bottle of organic Picual EVOO and its case. The photograph shows one real unit; the price is for both.
To get the most from it, taste it raw first, on bread or a simple salad, and then in the kitchen: a good oil shows as much when finishing a dish as when cooking over gentle heat. It is best enjoyed in the months after opening, while its aromas are intact.
At the table
Toast, salads, chargrilled lamb, sheep’s cheeses and roasted vegetables.
